What is the goal of “Color for People”?
The project aims to give young people in Nigeria a future perspective by providing them with vocational training in the painting and decorating trade. This creates new opportunities for employment, self-employment, and supporting their families.
Why vocational training in painting and decorating?
Craftsmanship is a key to sustainable development. With simple tools and hands-on training, visible results can be achieved quickly: houses are beautified, rooms become more livable, and young people gain skills that are directly in demand.
Who is behind the project?
The initiator is Kingsley Odubo, a master painter from Braunschweig with Nigerian roots. He is supported by local partners in Nigeria as well as volunteer helpers in Germany.
How are the donations used?
All donations are transparently directed into the construction and operation of the training workshop in Uromi (Edo State, Nigeria). This includes building the workshop facility, purchasing tools and machines, and financing training materials.
Can I be sure my money will reach its destination?
Yes. We place great importance on maximum transparency. Through the website and social media, we regularly share updates on progress and the specific use of donations. Every contribution is documented.
Can I help in ways other than donating money?
Absolutely! In addition to financial support, in-kind donations (e.g., tools, paint), connecting us with partners, or spreading the word about the project on social media are all a great help. Every form of support makes a difference.
Where exactly is the project carried out?
The workshop is being established in Uromi, Edo State, Nigeria. Kingsley’s family lives there, and he has strong ties to the region – ensuring that the support reaches exactly where it is needed.
Can I also visit the project on site?
Yes, this is possible by arrangement. Kingsley regularly travels to Nigeria himself and coordinates the training on site. Visits and exchanges are expressly welcome.
